![]() “Now, which one of you punks is going to pay me to investigate this crime?” No one spoke up. “Nobody move unless you want to!” They didn’t. “Home Depot™ Presents the Police!®” I said, flashing my badge and my gun and a small picture of Ron Paul. It was a normal office building, strangled on all sides by public sidewalks. Now you get out there and find those bitcoins.” “That’s why you’re the best I got, Lisowski. “Any rate the market offers is, by definition, fair.” ![]() But mark my words: we’re going to figure out who did this and we’re going to take them down … provided someone pays us a fair market rate to do so.” They represent true economic freedom, not subject to arbitrary manipulation by any government. “What kind of monster would do something like that? Bitcoins are the ultimate currency: virtual, anonymous, stateless. The heroin needle practically fell out of my arm. Somebody just stole four hundred and forty-seven million dollars’ worth of bitcoins.” “What? Is the mayor trying to ban trans fats again?” I put a quarter in the radio to activate it. I was shooting heroin and reading “The Fountainhead” in the front seat of my privately owned police cruiser when a call came in. Why you so hard try to downplay blatant issues like this? Especially since you are not even trying to present any valid points, but just use baseless speculations to say "it doesn't matter".Įdit: man this was annoying on mobile. This time it just so happened that it's related to pretty big game. It's not like this is one only time Steam allowed scam games on their platform. Just few years ago there was real plague of games where screens and description had nothing in common with game that was actually sold. It's not like scammers did some hella smart move this time.Ģ) Especially since we do know this is not first time scam games were released on Steam. Since right here Valve wasn't able to catch blatant scam that also exposed how broken their system is (they literally didn't catch that game A was sent for review and publishing and then scam B was released) there's no reason to think they normally do catch them. Holy shit.ġ) That's pure speculation on your part. ![]() One made it through, imagine all the others that didn't. It's like you think that this is the one and only time someone tried to put a fake listing on Steam. Not knowing that it was a scam and that they had to go to the website Obviously with Tarkov, doing research outside the game is gonna be important so you would hope that if somebody was going to buy it, they would have done the research to know if they want to play it, and then would have found that information, but the reality is that that isn't how every single person works, so it's not unbelievable to think somebody could have done no research, saw a YouTube short or something on tarkov, said that looks cool, went to steam because of the hash tag escapefromtarkov, and then found the steam game and bought it. Not everybody is so ingrained into games that they know everything about a game and it's devs before they buy it. Hell, I've done that plenty of times before myself and I'm the person that does copious amounts of research before any purchase. There is a large group of people that will scroll through steam and find a game they think looks cool and buy it without any knowledge of anything else. Ik you say this like it's psycho for somebody to have that little knowledge but most people don't do insane amounts of research about video games.
